Can you negotiate at Diamonds direct?
Main Post:
Found a setting I like, but I’m not sure if I could negotiate the price.
Has anyone done it?
Edit: was able to close it within 1 days with 25% off! Thanks everyone!!

Yes, they’ll give you 25% off without even pressing. Anything more might get tricky but worth a shot - depending on how much you are spending.

Raleigh Direct Purchase Program
Main Post:
Got an email today that Raleigh launched their corporate direct purchase program. Discounts seem to be ~30-50% off MSRP. Here are the details they sent:
- Visit: http://corp.raleighusa.com
- Use Corporate Code: RALEIGH4U
- Example prices for road bikes (no tax, free shipping): http://imgur.com/a/TFxEC
I've ordered 2 bikes through their subsidiary Diamondback's program so I know it's real.

Oh wow thank you! In the market for a new bike right now actually so this is a huge help!

RDU to CDG direct flight
Main Post:
Is there anyone here working for Delta who would have an inside scoop on this flight? We had booked the direct flight but it got cancelled. I’m wondering if it will be reinstated since France opened its borders recently.

Just dropping in to say that direct flight to CDG is awesome. When we went our plane was probably 30% full so I was able to lay down over 3 seats and sleep like a baby through the entire flight.
I hope you find your answer!
What if Raleigh had a more direct main/Interstate highway route to Charlotte?
Main Post:
I ask this because the fastest way is an indirect route that takes 2 hours and 45 minutes, and it involves going through Greensboro via I-40/85. What if the new I-87 could be extended further southwest through the low country, and would end around northern Charlotte? How much time would that save?

Good question. Figure it out and let us know.

Raleigh - where did you buy your engagement ring/wedding bands?
Main Post:
My SO and I have been to Diamonds Direct and found an engagement ring we love but want to make an educated purchase.
Where did you purchase? What was the experience like? What price range did you fall in? Places to avoid and if so, why?
Top Comment:
Only advice I have is to not spend a lot of money if you don't have it.
Pawn shop ring means the same as one from anywhere else.
That being said my wife's stone came from a different place than her ring and setting. We bought our wedding bands online because they are simple and it was cheaper.
You can easily spend $10,000 on a stone for nothing other than bragging rights, it's a silly game but everyone seems to play.
Diamond stores?
Main Post:
I am going to propose to my girlfriend. I've been to Baileys at Cameron Village and to Diamonds Direct at Crabtree Valley. Does anyone have an opinion as to which of these is better? Are there other stores I should check out?
Thanks in advance!

I second the DD suggestion. The customer service before and after the purchase was fantastic. We take broken jewelry there that we didn't even purchase from them and they've fixed it.
In addition, just wanted to offer this story. I priced out a ring at 3 different diamond chain stores at the mall. I went back during their sales and the same rings were the same price as before the sale, even with 20% off. They basically jack the retail value up 20% right before a sale to artificially inflate the savings.
